There’s an oft used phrase when “flood proofing” a home or business: “The only risk free protection from flood is elevation”. That said, the Aqua-Cade™ system is the single most reliable and effective flood barrier system able to withstand protracted wind, rain and surge events associated with hurricanes. It will not provide a hermetically sealed barrier to an entrance or opening, but it’s the closest you will achieve with any system on the market today.

Our standard order processing time is 3-5 business days for in stock products. For custom installations, lead times may vary depending on production and fabrication schedules. Our goal, from time of deposit to initial installation is to be under 30 days.

The bottom Aqua-Cade™ plank has rubber EPDM seal, which combined with the post pressure plate jam bolt creates a strong seal with the ground below. We have enhanced the bottom seal with a soft durometer hollow “D” gasket to conform to anomalies such as pavers. In some applications, a concrete footer provides optimal sealing capabilities. The middle planks have a tongue in grove channel ensuring a water tight fit between planks.

The Aqua-Cade™ panels are about 2lb per linear foot. So a 9 foot panel would be about 18Lb.

>This has been debated within the Insurance industry for some time. The Aqua-Cade system is a relatively new form of wind, flood and surge protection to the market. The short answer is maybe. Installing flood proofing can make you eligible for lower flood insurance premiums. Both the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and private insurers offer discounts for flood protection measures. These measures are called “mitigation discounts”. You will need to check with your insurance company and/or broker to see what discounts may apply.

Extremely easy. Water Gate Systems labels each panel as to location and whether it’s a top, middle or bottom panel relative to the opening it’s designed to protect.

We source the raw materials internationally.  Most installations take between 8-12 weeks after deposit. We complete and customize the system in our fabrication shop here in Ft. Myers.  WGS works closely with our suppliers to shorten lead times at every available opportunity.

All panels are clearly marked with a sticker indicating location and whether the panel is bottom, middle, or top.

About 3-4 hours for initial installation. Installation of planks happens in minutes, with a few extra minutes to tighten down each plank and the top clamp.

The Aqua-Cade™ system can have spans of up to ten feet before requiring a center post. This is also determined by the height of the barrier. We have customers routinely asking for spans of 30 feet and more.

Yes – we offer 90 degree turn sections that allow you to make a turn. We find this type of requirement most often with Lania and slider applications.

The Aqua-Cade aluminum flood barrier is manufactured using high quality extruded 6063 T-5 Aluminum planks, posts and cast fittings. Hardware is 316 stainless steel. Components are designed to be durable as well as weather and rust resistant.
